How to Make Split Biscuits

  1. Pare and boil potatoes. Mash.
  2. Add the shortening and eggs.
  3. Dissovle the yeast in the milk and add to the other ingredients.
  4. Sift 3 cups of flour and add to the mixture.
  5. Allow dough to raise until it is light.
  6. Add salt and sugar and enough additional flour to knead.
  7. Allow the dough to rise again.
  8. Roll out dough 1/2-inch thick. Cut into flat biscuits.
  9. Brush tops with melted butter and place them together in pairs.
  10. Bake on a greased pan at 375°
