How to Make English Penny Muffins
Ingredients
- 1 yeast cake
- 2 tablespoons melted butter
- 1 cup warm water
- 3/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup milk
- 1 egg
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- bread flour
Directions
- Dissolve the yeast in the water and milk.
- Add salt and 1/2 cup of flour. Stir until the mixture forms a thin batter.
- Stir in sugar, egg, and butter.
- Add enough additional flour to make a soft dough.
- Knead the dough and allow it to rise until it's light.
- Form dough into small rolls.
- Place in greased muffin pans and allow to rise again.
- Bake.
